She...

A few weeks ago, Cousin Missy and Aunt Renda were here, as were Marci, Dan, Michael, Abbie... just my family. Abbie gave Missy a book titled "She..." And I cried as I read it. Mainly because we were all thinking of the one person we love and miss ever so dearly ...

In memory of Lisa...

I'm going to type the whole book for you. Right here. Right now. I'm not offended if you don't read it, but if you knew Lisa, I think you should.

She...

(and on the flaps it reads)

She affected all others around her. Quietly touching one heart, who in turn touched another. Reaching out to ends further than she would ever know. Who was she? There are many ways to describe a woman, Mother, daughter, sister, wife, student, teacher, leader, or friend. But the thoughts in these pages are not about titles or roles, they are about spirit and heart. They are not about fame or acclaim, they are about caring and accomplishment. Look around. There are certain women in our world who have the gift of finding joy everywhere and leaving it behind them when they go. You'll usually find them immersed in their work, or slow dancing with their dreams, or making a difference for all those around them. These are the women who can flood our souls with light and laughter... strenth and courage... hopes and dreams. It's not just what they do that sets them apart, it's how they make us feel. She is someone gentle but powerful.. Someone whose music washes away the dust of every day life. Someone who makes us laugh when we though we would cry... someone who can pick up the pieces and give them back in all the right order. Someone who pays attention to the little things and adds such beauty to the world. Someone who cares. We feel so lucky and so blessed to have these special women in our lives. It's hard to express how we feel about them, but here's something we can do: We can love them, affirm them, thank them, and celebrate them.

Even though I just wrote you all the whole thing, you should buy the book at Tabula Rasa in Trolley Square, Salt Lake, or I'm sure Barnes and Noble would probably have it. I'm sure you were all thinking of someone... if anyone did actually read the whole thing, hahaha.

Thank you, Sister! for giving it to me as your little going away gift :) I already look forward to see you in New York in March!
