New York City 2012

Ryan and I took a last minute trip to NY before school started.
One of the first things we did was get some NY pizza.
Sister took us here, as well as took lots of our pictures.

Then Ryan and I headed over to the Met.
 And we enjoyed Pretzels...
 and art, and a sphynx
Then we wandered into Central Park to the Alice in Wonderland statue
 And the fountain
 And Strawberry Fields
And the John Lennon site.  On This day, Chapman was denied parole for the 7th time in NYC
Ryan insisted that we have this man draw us... HAH.
 Times Square
 M & M Factory
Ryan has never seen so much chocolate in one room.  In fact, this is the largest wall of chocolate in the world, that we know of.
These tubes of M & M's extends to another level of the building, at least.
The next day we got up early and went to see Lady Liberty.
It was a very patriotic day, indeed.
 Progression of the Freedom Tower

I couldn't help but laugh at all this stuff around ryan's neck..

This is one of my favorite pictures of the trip.

Then we headed over to Ground Zero.
There, we felt a very different, sad, but patriotic feeling

This sweet lady was from Kaysville, Utah, who was on Flight 93.  Although I never knew her, her grand-daughter Mallory is one of my best friends, and I remember Mallory on that awful day... I'll never forget September 11th, 2001.  I was in 7th grade at the time.
This tree was the only tree's who survived 9/11, and many other storms that came after.  A few times, people thought it was dead, but the stump kept growing and growing.  It symbolizes 9/11, in that no matter how many times people try to tear us down as a nation,
we will always stand tall, proud, and united.

This helmet saved 2 NYPD firefighters on that day.
Everyone's name who passed away in the 9/11 attack.
And then I walked outside and just started laughing. WEIMEREINERS! I miss our old boy, Gunth. Crazy it was almost a year ago that he passed away :(
Then we headed over to Wall Street ant the Stock Exchange.
 Ryan loves his ice cream.
Then we headed over to the pier.
Ohhh, look at us premature healthcare providers...
And Ryan got an air brushed tattoo (which lasted about 4 days, haha)
Then we walked by this... If any of you know or don't know Ryan very well, Ryan LOVES massages.  We couldn't resist.

Then we wandered over to the Brooklyn Bridge.
And had Kebab. or a Gyro. I had lots of Kebab in Spain... and this was pretty close to it.

One of my NY traditions is to eat at this lovely bakery.  Their cupcakes are to die for. Seriously.

Ryan was wondering what the big deal was with 20 people in line...
but once he had a bite, he understood.
Of course I took him to Nintendo World.

I could spend so much money in this store it's ridiculous. OH wait. We did spend money here. I was thinking, someday when I have a baby, if it's a boy, maybe I could theme his room Nintendo.  They even had these awesome wall mural stickers that are reusable... I really wanted them.  Maybe someday when I'm done with school. I seriously think it would be so cool to have a Nintendo room, or game room, and decorate it all Nintendo-ish. Yeah, I'm a nerd like that.

A relatively new addition is Lego Land.  It was pretty sweet...

They built giant things out of ALL LEGOS.

LIKE THIS DRAGON... All out of legos.
Oh yeah, those are lego people. PEOPLE! Here is a detail (below)

And we said hi to this cute kitty on the way back to Marci and Dan's place.
Then we saw Marci and Maude!
Dan caught up with us too. Sweet Sister made us all dinner this night.

And delicious dessert! It was good to get off our feet.  I kind of can't believe how much we fit all in a days worth... but it was worth it!
